About "BadB. -Bass Solo project-"
BadB. とは、
ベーシスト・河野誠志とキーボーディスト／エンジニア・Roggy(a.k.a. Sou Mizorogi)によるユニット。
音の構築と表現の両面において、徹底して「ベース主体で音楽を完結させる」ことに挑戦している。
楽曲は短編的かつミニマルな構成をもち、旋律・リズム・空間の三要素をループとレイヤーによって再構築。ベースは従来のリズム隊や伴奏の枠組みを超え、自律的な語り手として機能する。
その核を担うのが、河野誠志の手によって丁寧に紡がれる、音と言葉のような表現力と構成力である。繊細なニュアンスの変化や空間の操作を自在に操るそのアプローチは、楽器という枠を超え、「音そのものが語る」世界を実現している。
一方、音響設計とミキシングはRoggyが担当。キーボーディストとしての感性とエンジニアとしての技術を融合させ、Roggy Studio名義で、音像の緻密な構築を手がけている。
とりわけ困難な低音主体のミックスにおいても、それを作品として昇華させる手腕は、本プロジェクトの音響的な骨格を支えている。
BadB.の音楽は、ベースという楽器そのものがジャンルを横断し、"語る" という行為を獲得していくプロセスにほかならない。
それは無機質さと感情、静寂と振動がせめぎ合う音の短編集であり、リスナーの内面と深く共鳴するために設計された音世界でもある。
About "BadB. -Bass Solo project-"
BadB. is a unit formed by bassist Seiji Kawano and keyboardist/engineer Roggy (a.k.a. Sou Mizorogi).
They take a rigorous approach to constructing and expressing music that is entirely completed through the bass.
Each track is structured like a minimalist short story, reconstructing melody, rhythm, and space through loops and layers.
The bass transcends its traditional role as rhythm or accompaniment, functioning instead as an autonomous storyteller.
At the core of this project lies the expressive and compositional power—like sound woven into language—carefully crafted by the hands of Seiji Kawano.
His approach, capable of delicately manipulating subtle nuance and spatial depth, transcends the instrument itself to create a world where the sound alone "speaks."
Meanwhile, Roggy is responsible for the acoustic design and mixing.
Fusing his sensibilities as a keyboardist with his skills as an engineer under the name Roggy Studio, he meticulously constructs the sonic image.
Even in the particularly challenging task of mixing low-end-focused music, his ability to elevate it into a complete work forms the sonic foundation of the project.
The music of BadB. is the process of the bass—an instrument—crossing genres and acquiring the ability to “speak.”
It is a collection of sonic short stories where mechanical coldness and raw emotion, silence and vibration, all contend with one another—designed to resonate deeply with the listener's inner world.
